PR Log (Press Release) – April 14, 2010 April 14, 2010 HOUSTON â € “The Green Business Bureau (GBB) announced today it is pleased by the recent changes to the Star Program created by the U.S. Energy Protection Agency Environmental (EPA) and Department of Energy (DOE). These changes strengthen the verification, testing and execution aspects of the Energy Star program, which helps consumers identify the most energy saving products on the market.

Lamb notes that many other certifications, Energy Star means something that can add much value. In this case, Energy Star has become a name that represents greater efficiency.

The recent changes to program means that in order to receive approval from the EPA, manufacturers must submit full reports and laboratory results, and in late 2010, reports and results have come from an approved an accredited laboratory. In addition, EPA has strengthened its systems for review and are moving from a system of automatic approval for one in which every single • Applications will be reviewed and approved individually prior to labeling.

The DOE is also stepping up enforcement of existing tests and is conducting outside the rig in the popular aircraft with positive results. Recent audits found that 98 percent of products tested in full compliance with the requirements of Energy Star
